Born in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, he received his vocal education in his hometown under Olimpi Khelashvili. He has been a member of the local opera company there since 1986. Together with fellow artists from the former U.S.S.R., he was selected for finishing studies under Giulietta Simionato and Edoardo Mueller at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
From 1982 he was studying in Odessa with Evgeny Ivanov and after he was giving his concerts all over the world together with concertmaster Ludmila Ivanova.
In 1981, he emerged as the winner of the Voci Verdiane international vocal competition in Busseto, going on to win the gold medal and first prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow the following year. In 1985, he triumphed again at the International Luciano Pavarotti Competition. He proceeded to cause a major sensation at London’s Royal Opera House, where he made his debut with Ramfis/AIDA, alongside Katia Ricciarelli and Luciano Pavarotti, conducted by Zubin Mehta.
From that point on, Paata Burchuladze went on to conquer all the world’s major opera houses. To name just a few: Teatro all Scala (NABUCCO, AIDA, LUISA MILLER, SIMON BOCCANEGRA, MACBETH, I LOMBARDI, THE FIERY ANGEL, BORIS GODUNOV), the Vienna State Opera (LUISA MILLER, BORIS GODUNOV, KHOVANSHCHINA, NABUCCO, DON CARLO, I VESPRI SICILIANI), the Bavarian State Opera (BORIS GODUNOV, NABUCCO, MACBETH, AIDA, ENTFÜHRUNG AUS DEM SERAIL, KHOVANSHCHINA), the Hamburg State Opera (KHOVANSHCHINA, MACBETH, IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA, LA FORZA DEL DESTINO, BORIS GODUNOV), the Opéra National de Paris (BORIS GODUNOV, FAUST, NABUCCO), the San Francisco Opera (PRINCE IGOR, AIDA), Washington Opera (DON CARLO), and the Metropolitan Opera New York (BORIS GODUNOV, DON GIOVANNI, AIDA, KHOVANSHCHINA, DON CARLO, NABUCCO).
Mr. Burchuladze first appeared with the New Israeli Opera in 1994 and has since sung the majority of his repertory with the company, to which he has very close bonds. His most recent successes have been LA GIOCONDA, MEFISTOFELE, and FAUST.
At the invitation of legendary conductor Herbert von Karajan (who referred to him as the second Schaljapin), he sang Commendatorein Mozart’s DON GIOVANNI at the Salzburg Festival in 1987 and starred in the REQUIEM MASSES by Verdi and Mozart as well. He returned to Salzburg in the summer of 2002 for a new production of TURANDOT and concerts together with Riccardo Muti and Valery Gergiev. Paata Burchuladze received special acclaim for his portrayal of Boris Godunov and was invited to inaugurate the 1990/91 Met season with the role, which he sang at Covent Garden as well as the State Operas of Vienna and Munich (singing his 100th performance of Boris in July 1995 at the latter).
Beyond his operatic fame, Mr. Burchuladze is also a celebrated and refined concert and recital singer, regularly performing with the most important festivals and producers worldwide, including La Scala, Musikverein and Konzerthaus Vienna, Salzburg Festival, Covent Garden, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Bavarian State Opera, Stuttgart State Opera, Tonhalle Zurich, La Monnaie in Brussels, La Bastille and Salle Gaveau in Paris, Solothurn, the Palau in Barcelona, Sevilla, Warsaw, Moscow, etc.

His 2010-12 seasons included appearances at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (THE TSAR’S BRIDE), at the Liceu in Barcelona and the Palau de la Musicá in Valencia, in Verdis AIDA with Masada Festival in Israel, also MACBETH with Deutsche Oper Berlin, IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA at the Metropolitan Opera, MAZEPPA with Monte Carlo Opera, DON GIOVANNI with Opéra National de Paris – RIGOLETTO at the Palau de la Musicá Valencia, PRINCE IGOR at the Bolshoj Theatre, BORIS GODUNOV with Israeli Opera, DON CARLO with Teatro Regio di Torio, TURANDOT with Masada Festival were the highlights for the 2012/13 season with AIDA and NABUCCO with Arena di Verona, DON CARLO at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, PRINCE IGOR at Hamburg’s State Opera, Verdi’s MESSA DA REQUIEM in Madrid and IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA at the Metropolitan Opera to follow in the coming seasons.
In February 1998, Mr. Burchuladze was named a prince by the Russian Orthodox Church. The State Opera of Stuttgart awarded his loyalty with the Kammersänger title in July 1998. He was appointed Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations in 2006 and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2010, in the same year he got Presidential Order of Excellence of Georgia and Honor of Commender by the President of Italian Republic. In 2014 year the President of Republic of Austria awarded him with the Cross of Honor, First Class, for Science and Arts.
Vladyslav Troitsky is a founder of the theater Dakh and ethno-ensemble DakhaBrakha. For several years in a row he has held the GOGOLFEST. Over many years Troitsky has been maintaining both Dakh and DakhaBrakha. Over the past few months Troitsky has been the artistic director of Kyiv Municipal Theater of Opera and Ballet for Children and Youth, but he has recently left it.

Андрес Мустонен, известнейший эстонский скрипач и дирижер, уверен, что они вполне могли бы полюбить джаз – в эпоху барокко тяга к импровизации была столь же сильной. Концерт в Доме музыки предлагает именно такую интерпретацию сочинений Баха и Генделя. Это не джазовые обработки в привычном смысле слова и не фантазии на темы из их сочинений. В нотном тексте не изменена ни одна нота, даже тогда, когда звучит такое феноменально сложное произведение, как Гольдберг-вариации Баха. Один из критиков точно и остроумно обозначил впечатление от этой манеры – как будто бы сам Бах «свингует».
Мустонен еще в 1970-е, будучи студентом Таллиннской консерватории, искал применении своим способностям вдали от торных дорог академического исполнительства. Сегодня он одинаково непринужденно чувствует себя на сценах филармонических залов, и в джазовых ночных клубах. История Арт-джаз-квартета, с которым он приезжает в Москву, началась в 2003 году. Музыкантов объединили идея играть классическую музыку в импровизационной манере, не нарушая композицию оригинала. О своих коллегах Мустонен отзывается с неизменным восхищением: «Это вдохновенные профессионалы, которые постигают суть каждого произведения… Мы передаем вдохновение друг другу, и из любой искры может возгореться пламя».
Chamber Ensemble "Artehatta" - bright, close-knit group of young musicians, inspired by European best traditions of chamber music-making and is always open to new artistic research. Each program, on which all work together creative workshop gives students the opportunity to plunge into the world of music - good knowledge or less famous, classic or avant-garde, but always - submitted through the prism of their own original vision. Debut Chamber Ensemble "Artehatta" in September 2013 a major festival of contemporary art "GOGOLFEST" since the team is busy concert. Our authoring program was presented in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Rivne, Lutsk, Lviv, Kherson. Chamber Ensemble "Artehatta" presented various art projects - "Tango story. Music stories" (in collaboration with the Honored Artist of Ukraine Igor Sayenko), "Music in touch" (a series of two concerts - "Birthday" and "Children's Symphony") "droplets. Minimalism +", "Art works of creative workshops Miroslava Kotorovych", "Chelo eternity" (in collaboration with the poet Eugenia Bilchenko), "Pure music", "Vocalise instrumental in lace" (in cooperation with the Honored Artist of Ukraine Susanna Chahoyan) "One malenkaya svecha" (in collaboration with the poet Eugenia Bilchenko), "CINEMA. The sound picture" and others. Together with Susanna Chahoyan and Igor Saenko staff made recordings for the National Radio Company of Ukraine.
The Chamber Orchestra of Odessa Philharmonic Society was organised in 1995. Its founder was German conductor Thomas Mandl. A year later, in 1996, and at the moment the orchestra headed by Honored Artist of Ukraine Igor Shavruk, who is the artistic director and principal conductor.
Orchestra concerts are regularly held in the Philharmonic Hall and other city concert stages. Each concert season Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra gives about 50 concerts with variety of thematic and educational programs for children, Baroque music, classicism, romanticism, music of the 20th century, the modern domestic and foreign composers.
The Orchestra's Repertoire is constantly growing, having mainly composed of more than one hundred works of various musical eras and styles, including works by Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Handel, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Elgar, Britten, Stravinsky, Webern, Shostakovich, Honegger, Barber; Ukrainian composers M. Skorik, E. Stankovic, V. Silvestrov. Under the direction of Igor Shavruk Orchestra first performed a number of works by composers of Odessa: J. Freidlin, A. Krasotov, A. Tomlionova, A. Rovenko , G. Uspensky, K. Tsepkolenko and others.
Among the orchestra guest conductor's were such famous conductors as Allin Vlasenko (Kiev), Vladimir Runchak (Kiev), Bernhard Wulff (Germany), Mario Beretta (Switzerland), Boris Bloch (Germany). Soloists with the orchestra were well-known musicians, world-class violinists Maxim Fedotov, Michael Guttman, pianists Alexey Botvinov, Dina Yoffe, Boris Bloch, Yuri Kuznetsov, as well as many others.
Every year, the orchestra participates in the "Two Days and Two Nights" International Festival of New Music. From 2015 the orchestra participates in new International Music Festival ODESSA CLASSICS. Orchestra toured in Ukraine in many cities, as well as in Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, Moldova.
In 2015, the Chamber Orchestra celebrates its 20-year anniversary.
